Methidemic is a powerful 8-episode documentary detailing the response of specific communities to the methamphetamine crisis in the U.S. Exploring the effects methamphetamine use has had in Montana, Utah, Idaho, and Georgia, Methidemic takes notice of successful solutions utilized by these states to confront a massive social issue.
Methidemic is a study of creative ways to tackle a complicated and costly problem. The nature of addiction, combined with staggering number of addicts, places a large economic burden on states to find long-lasting and cost-effective solutions that educate people, reduce meth use, and alleviate overcrowded jails and prisons. Examining treatment services, rehabilitation techniques, prison reform and community awareness, Methidemic shows how the costly problem of methamphetamine and other addictions can be met head-on, with positive results.
These successful alternative methods provide proof of how consistent and long-term education and outreach can change addictive behavior. Administrators and workers of rehab centers, homeless shelters, church groups and soup kitchens can put to use information from Methidemic to become aware of better practices by observation of the efforts in these eight episodes. As well, government and law enforcement officials can use the miniseries to implement legislation based on the societal and financial effects of meth and other addictions and the needs of their communities.

Utah part 01
We arrive in Utah, we talk to addicts about how they were introduced to the drug, their use, and the change that followed their inevitable addiction
Utah part 02
A lot of testimonies unfold in Utah about the extent of meth use in the state, and how it affected the local community and the lives of the victims.
Idaho part 01
We move to Idaho. Legislators are on the move to make a stop to the issue of meth use. We also visit The State of Idaho Correctional Institution to listen to some stories about meth abuse.
Idaho part 02
We continue our investigation in Idaho where we visit Pocatello’s Women Correctional Center, and we listen to Rep Joan Wodd explain the Idaho Meth Project.
Montana part 01
Our next stop is Montana. We listen to some victims about their struggles with meth, and we discuss the birth of strategic philanthropy as an ongoing solution.
Montana part 02
We conclude our visit to Montana and our miniseries, and develop an overview of the struggle, the solution, and the future.
